Memories of Beebar by Madeleine Staples
Memories of Beebar
So many to choose,
Sailing boats and fast cars,
Different shades of blues
He’d greet us with the usual,
‘Hello monkey’ then big hugs,
We’d sit and listen as the adults talk,
Sinking into soft throw rugs
We’d watch funny videos,
In the study and on his chair,
Of comedians playing piano,
And there we’d sit and stare
When it’s time for dinner,
He’d pile his plate with food,
Getting to bed at goodness knows when,
And waking up at noon
It breaks my heart to know
You’re now only in my dreamworld,
But until we meet again,
Goodbye Beebar from this world
